Stream
Islands in the Stream
That is what we are…
Listen to this wonderful country duet here.
Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside, there was somethin’ going on
You do something to me that I can’t explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got somethin’ goin’ on
Tender love is blind
It requires a dedication
All this love we feel
Needs no conversation
We ride it together, ah-ah
Makin’ love with each other, ah-ah
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah
I can’t live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothin’ if you got no one
And you did walk in tonight
Slowly loosen’ sight of the real thing
But that won’t happen to us and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing
No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one, in love forever
We can ride it together, ah-ah
Makin’ love with each other, ah-ah
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah

“Islands in the Stream” is the title of a song written by the Bee Gees and sung by American country music artists Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. It was released in August 1983 as the first single from Rogers’ album Eyes That See in the Dark and the second pop number-one for both Rogers and Parton (Rogers having been there with 1980′s “Lady” and Parton with 1981′s “9 to 5″). They went on to record a Christmas album together, and had an additional hit with their 1985 duet “Real Love”. The Gibbs originally wrote the song for Marvin Gaye in an R&B style, only later to change it for the Kenny Rogers album.
It also spent two weeks as the number one country song and in the year’s final countdown was the number one song of the year of 1983. In December of that year it was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping two million copies in the US. In Australia, the song was number one for one week in December 1983 and becoming one of the highest selling singles of 1984. In 2005, the song topped CMT’s poll of the best country duets of all time; Parton and Rogers reunited to perform the song on the CMT special.

Truemmelbach
One of the ten Trummelbach Falls. It was pretty cold inside the mountain and the water has a temperature of 4 degrees celsius…
The Trummelbach Falls in Switzerland are a series of ten glacier-waterfalls inside the mountain made accessible by tunnel-lift and illuminated.
The Trummelbach alone drains the mighty glacier defiles of Eiger (3970 m), Mönch (4099 m) and Jungfrau (4158 m) and carries 20,200 tons of boulder detritus per year.
Its drainage area is 24 km², half of it covered by snow and glaciers. Up to 20,000 liters of water per second. The only glacier-waterfalls in Europe inside the mountain and still accessible.

Zen
Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism which originated in China during the 6th century CE as Chán. From China, Zen spread south to Vietnam, and east to Korea and Japan.
The word Zen is from the Japanese pronunciation of the Middle Chinese word 禪 Dzyen (Modern Mandarin: Chán), which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyāna, which can be approximately translated as “absorption” or “meditative state”.
Zen emphasizes experiential wisdom in the attainment of enlightenment. As such, it de-emphasizes theoretical knowledge in favor of direct self-realization through meditation and dharma practice. The teachings of Zen include various sources of Mahāyāna thought, including the Prajñāpāramitā literature, Madhyamaka, Yogācāra and the Tathāgatagarbha Sutras.

Black Ice (II)
Second picture of my ice series, called Black Ice.
Picture title and post processing inspired by the correspondent Album from the great Australian Rock Band AC/DC.
Listen to Black Ice here.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Black Ice is the 15th Australian and 14th international studio album by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It was produced by Brendan O’Brien and released internationally on 17 October 2008. Guitarists Angus Young and Malcolm Young got together in London in 2003 to start composing tracks. Delays to its development occurred due to an injury to bass guitarist Cliff Williams and a change of labels from Atlantic Records to Sony Music. Recording occurred on March and April 2008 at The Warehouse Studio in Canada, the same studio as the band’s previous album Stiff Upper Lip, the eight-year gap between them is their longest between successive studio albums. O’Brien tried to recapture the rock sound of the band’s early work, as opposed to the blues orientation of predecessors Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip, and made suggestions such as adding “soul crooning” to Brian Johnson’s singing. Black Ice has the longest running time of any AC/DC studio effort.
Black Ice was launched exclusively in physical formats, as the group does not sell its music digitally. Walmart got exclusive rights for the North American distribution, and was released along with an extensive marketing campaign which included displays focusing on AC/DC memorabilia. Three singles were issued, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Train”, “Big Jack” and “Anything Goes”. Black Ice went to #1 in 29 countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US. It was the second best-selling record of 2008, behind Coldplay’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, and had shipped 6 million copies worldwide by December. Critical reviews were generally positive, praising the music and resemblance to the classic AC/DC sound, although some critics found the work overly long and inconsistent. Black Ice was nominated for many awards, including the Grammy, Brit, Juno and ARIA Music Awards; and was supported by a world tour between 2008 and 2010.
